LOCHINVER village is situated half a mile round the bay from our properties at Baddidarrach, and facilities include several excellent restaurants, a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland, the famous Highland Stoneware Pottery, a ships’ chandler, craft shops, a petrol station and a Doctors’ surgery. There are also grocery and greengrocery shops, a butcher, newsagent, fishmonger and a village Post Office.
Fishing permits for the many surrounding lochs can be purchased from the tourist office, who also supply a booklet listing many of the spectacular hill paths and mountain walks to be found within Assynt. Salmon-fishing permits can be obtained for the rivers Kirkaig and Inver from the Inverlodge Hotel. Sea cruises around this beautiful coastline, perfect for both wildlife enthusiast and sea-angler alike, are always available.
So now, come and experience Assynt at first hand, with its many mountains, lochs and rivers - enjoy the beautiful shoreline and sandy beaches close at hand. Take advantage of our pure air and the unspoilt beauty of the Highlands.
